Labour Minister in interim 2nd September 1946 to 15th August 1947.
Again, Labour Employment and Rehabilitation minister 24th January 1966 to
13th March 1967 and 15th November 1969 to 18th February 1970.
About Center :
Patna University has been privileged to host the PG department of Labour and
Social welfare at the behest of then Labour minister and the great son of soil
BabuJagjivan Ram in year of 1948. Since then our Post graduate department of
LSW has been catering to the needs of coal India, DVC, Bokaro steel plant,
Durgapur steel plant and other industrial establishment of eastern India on the
slot of personnel officer, labour officer, welfare officer, conciliation officer,
officer HR, Officer IR etc. This department happens to be the most sought after
course for the post graduate studies, where job prospect is cent percent
guarantee. At present our alumni are heading the HR wing of more than a
dozen PSU and hundreds of private sector entities. Since last ten years, we are
actively engaged with Jagjivan Ram foundation UGC, ICPR and other allied
agencies along with civil societies organisation for fulfilling the dreams of
envisioned by BabuJagjivan Ram in his own life period. We Bihari are proud of
the great stalwart, an excellent visionary and outstanding states man, anastute diplomat a smart strategist like Jagjivan Ram whom entire India
remembers as an exemplary nation builder.
past BabuJagjivan Ram National Foundation and UFC have been liberal enough
to grant us chair and seminar.
Now, we here by request you through our university to allow us to
continue grant for our proposed centre in the name of BabuJagjivan Ram,
which we are putting forward for your kind perusal and approval for the centre
proposed name of the centre isJagjivan Ram centre for social harmony.
Vision of the Centre :
- The centre shall strive to propagate the ethos, philosophy, ideas, outlook,
writeup, speeches/lectures, of Babujagjivan Ram in the larger
interest of Indian societies, humanity and mankind.
- The centre aims at conducting multidisciplinary research in the state of
Bihar and eastern region of India.
- To achieve the goal of decent work as envisaged by ILO and BabuJagjivan
